Students will be instructed on classroom procedures on the first day of school while reviewing the syllabus and classroom rules. However some procedures will be taught when the students perform the transition or activity for the first time. Regardless of when it is, the procedure will be taught before the students are expected to carry it out for the first time. In order to keep the class orderly and efficient, I will use Dr. Randall Sprick's CHAMPS worksheets to develop the procedures. Copies of the procedures will be kept in the student information center beside the teacher's desk in case the students need to review one of them.
Below are lists of transitions and activities that will have a specific procedure. Transitions: Before class begins After bell ringer Starting individual work Moving to group work Moving to computer lab
Activities: Beginning of class Teacher-directed instruction Group work Class discussion Independent work Tests/Quizzes
Below is an example of a CHAMPS worksheet we will be using that describes the procedure for before class begins.
Accomodation: All procedures are subject to change during and after my first year of teaching.
